NEW YORK, March 5 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar decreased in late trading on Wednesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, dropped 1.36 percent to 104.301 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro rose to 1.0790 U.S. dollars from 1.0597 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound advanced to 1.2897 U.S. dollars from 1.2787 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 148.79 Japanese yen, lower than 149.27 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar added to 0.8904 Swiss francs from 0.8888 Swiss francs, and it was down to 1.4336 Canadian dollars from 1.4503 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar decreased to 10.1990 Swedish kronor from 10.4760 Swedish kronor.
