What Is The Reason Behind The Rise In Rupee Against Dollar?
According to reports, the main reason behind the rise of the Indian rupee is one major step taken by the central bank of India. The Reserve Bank (RBI) of India is reportedly bringing more and more foreign currency into the country. This step by RBI has brought in a huge chunk of money, around 136 Billion Dollars. This is more than what was expected.
The loop of money is not simple yet not complicated enough. The circle is, when more dollars enter India, the pressure on the rupee automatically reduces. This major step taken by RBI has helped the rupee gain a big value. Also, RBI gained more foreign exchange resources to support the currency.
What Did RBI Actually Do For Rupee?
RBI took a serious step of bringing in foreign currency. According to what RBI has reported themselves, there was a total inflow of $136 billion. This is more than what was expected and indicated by the RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra earlier.
RBI has reported on Wednesday that Indian lenders had collected around $127 billion in dollar deposits through a special programme aimed at overseas citizens.
Two other programmes brought in another $9.15 billion, taking the combined inflow to $136 billion.
Could The Rupee Rise Further?
Market sentiment has improved following the large inflows. The currency pair was trading below its 100-day moving average, a level closely watched by traders to understand the broader trend.
According to many financial institutions and experts, the rupee might move more upward for a while. The speed at which the RBI is working behind the rupee is commendable. This could also keep the economy of the country a little stable while countries around the world are under pressure right now. If the RBI continues to bring in foreign currency, the rupee could gain further value against the US dollar in the coming days.

What Does Rupee Stabilising Mean To You?
This is the most important stance in any economy. A strong currency will change many things. It will cool down inflation and heat in the economy. The rupee-dollar exchange rate has its own importance. It affects the cost of imported goods, education abroad, travel and business, etc.
A strong Indian rupee can make all the overseas expenses cheaper; on the other hand, a weak rupee makes everything expensive.
