The Indian Rupee to Indonesian Rupiah exchange rate is influenced by Reserve Bank of India and Bank Indonesia policy, together with changes in the interest-rate gap between the two currencies. Indian interest-rate expectations, inflation and growth data and oil prices can affect the Indian Rupee, while Indonesian interest-rate expectations, inflation and trade data and commodity prices can move the Indonesian Rupiah.

INR/IDR has ticked 0.18% higher today to 184.3854. The pair has fallen 1.4% over the past week and has slipped 1.11% over the past month.

Inflation YoY came in at 4.82%, above expectations of 4.8%.

Next up are Indian trade balance on Tuesday at 10:00 UK time, which could set the direction for INR/IDR.
