Serie A giants Napoli have reportedly made an approach to sign Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund this summer.
The 22-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Atalanta BC in the summer of 2023 and scored 16 goals in all competitions in his first season.
Hojlund managed only four goals in the Premier League last season, and he faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford following the big-money arrival of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
The Danish forward was left out of Ruben Amorim’s squad to face Arsenal on Sunday in the Premier League opening game, as the Red Devils lost 1-0 at Old Trafford.

The United striker has reportedly attracted interest from AC Milan, but he has remained adamant that he wants to stay and fight for his place.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Napoli have made ‘direct contact’ with the Red Devils to sign Hojlund following the injury to Romelu Lukaku, who will be out for three months at least.
There has been interest in Hojlund’s club teammate, Joshua Zirkzee, but the 20-time Premier League champions are not keen on losing him this summer.
The Athletic reported that United are looking to sell the Denmark international permanently, although they are also open to a loan agreement.

Hojlund made a name for himself during his time in Italy, and it does not come as a big surprise that several Serie A clubs are vying for his signature.
The Red Devils paid a massive £67.2m to sign the striker from Atalanta, and it appears that they have already given up on him, after he managed 26 goals and six assists in 95 appearances.
It has been suggested that Milan had held talks with United for over a week, and they offered a £5.2m loan fee with a £38.9m option to make his stay permanent in 2026, with the wages being covered by the Rossoneri.
Napoli benefited from signing Scott McTominay from the Red Devils in the summer of 2024, and they would be looking to repeat another transfer masterstroke by signing Hojlund.
