Two miss, one by 4.5 pounds

LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC Fight Night 254 (ESPN+) fighter weigh-ins at the host hotel.

Among those weighing in were former middleweight title challenger Marvin Vettori (19-7-1 MMA, 9-5-1 UFC) and Roman Dolidze (14-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC), who meet in the main event rematch, and Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos (25-8-1 MMA, 11-4-1 UFC) and Chidi Njokuani (24-10 MMA, 4-3 UFC), who fight in the welterweight co-feature.

The featured athletes were all on point on the scale, but the same can’t be said for a pair of undercard fighters who were heavy, including undefeated newcomer Diyar Nurgozhay, who was 4.5 pounds over the mark for his light heavyweight bout against Brendson Ribeiro.
