A two-day Erasmus+ Info Day is being held in Sarajevo, organized by the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Erasmus+ Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the BRAVO organization. The event, attended by more than a hundred people interested in participating in Erasmus+ programs, is an opportunity to present what Erasmus+ program has to offer, as well as to exchange experiences in education, training, youth and sports.
On behalf of the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina Adebayo Babajide spoke about the importance of the Erasmus+ program for European integration. “Erasmus+ is one of the EU programs that best represents the founding ideals of the European project and a major driver of EU integration. Since 1987, over 15 million people have taken part in Erasmus+, and I am delighted that more than 8,000 people from Bosnia and Herzegovina have taken part in these exchanges,” Babajide said.
The BiH Minister of Civil Affairs, Dubravka Bošnjak, emphasized the importance of the Erasmus+ program. “This program not only provides opportunities for education and training, but also serves as a key tool for strengthening young people and their skills, which is essential for their personal and professional growth. Within the new 2021-2027 cycle of the Program, we can expect even greater opportunities for our youth and educational institutions,” Bošnjak stressed.
The Minister also recalled the efforts by the Ministry of Civil Affairs to facilitate the access to Erasmus+ and commended the participation in European networks such as the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), Eurydice, EPALE, eTwinning platform, as well as Youth Wiki.
The data of the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs shows that the total value of approved projects for BiH institutions within the last call of the European Commission for submission of project proposals under Erasmus+ is more than 8.7 million euro for higher education, more than 4.2 million euro for vocational education and training, and more than 2.5 million euro for youth. The projects will be implemented in the next 24 to 36 months, and will further contribute to the education system and social development of the country.
The Erasmus+ Info Day continues with workshops and presentations to provide detailed information on the opportunities for participation in this important European program.
