A trio of downtown Las Vegas casinos is touting the success of its recently launched foreign currency exchange program after just one month.
Circa, the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate casinos said that more than 15,000 Canadians visited the properties in the first 30 days of the “At Par” promotion, which treats the Canadian dollar as equal to the U.S. dollar on select purchases. The program created a “surge in Canadian visitation,” resulting in more than 2,700 hotel room bookings during that period, according to a Wednesday news release.
The parity offer, which was first introduced in late January, has been extended through Aug. 31. Under the program, eligible Canadian guests receive one dollar in U.S. value for every Canadian dollar spent on qualifying hotel, gaming, beverage and entertainment purchases. As of 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, the current CAD/USD exchange rate was $0.73.
Derek Stevens, co-owner and chief executive officer of the three downtown hotel-casinos, said the early numbers demonstrate strong pent-up interest from Canadian tourists.
“‘At Par’ has created real momentum with our Canadian guests right out of the gate, and that means a lot to me, personally, given my lifelong connection to Canada,” Stevens said in the announcement.
As part of the “At Par” program, fans from north of the border can purchase tickets at an even exchange rate for two performances by Canadian DJ Excision on April 24 and 25 at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, which is also owned by Stevens.
“Bringing a Canadian artist like Excision to Downtown Las Vegas Events Center builds on that momentum (of ‘At Par’), pairing real value with major entertainment and giving Canadian guests even more reasons to plan a trip downtown,” Stevens said.
The casino properties will also promote a free concert by Canadian rock band Finger Eleven on the Fremont Street Experience on June 27 as part of the Downtown Rocks Summer Concert Series.
Canada has traditionally been Las Vegas’ largest international market. According to data from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Canadians accounted for an average of 44 percent of all global air travelers into the city between 2019 and 2024. Las Vegas tourism officials say Canadian visitation was down 20 percent in 2025, and airline seat capacity for flights coming from Canada was down 30 percent.
January was another down month for Canadian airline travel into Las Vegas. February data has not yet been released.
The “At Par” program, executives say, is designed to remove a key financial barrier and give Canadian travelers another incentive to visit Southern Nevada.
Hotel guests paying with Canadian currency will be charged the listed U.S. dollar rate without any exchange rate applied, the casinos said. Guests with valid Canadian identification can receive up to $500 in slot promotional play redeemable at Club One players clubs across the three downtown Las Vegas casino properties. Participating bars, including Bar Canada at the D, Overhang at Circa and Bar Prohibition! at Golden Gate, are also offering select beverages at par.
