Tuesday (August 6)
- Very heavy rains are expected in Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and West Rajasthan.
- Heavy rainfall is possible in Madhya Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand.
- Up to widespread showers are likely in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Saurashtra, Kutch, Konkan, Goa, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana and Rayalaseema.
Wednesday (August 7)
- Widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely over Central and Eastern India.
- Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely over Northern and Northeastern India.
- Isolated to heavy rain spells may hit Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
5-day nationwide forecast
A depression in western Rajasthan is moving west-northwestward and is about to enter Pakistan early Tuesday. While it is weakening, western Rajasthan is still likely to receive isolated heavy rain with gusty winds and thunderstorms on Tuesday. Some remote areas, such as Jammu‐Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, may also be affected by this system with isolated heavy falls on Tuesday.
A cyclonic circulation and the monsoon trough will continue to cause wet conditions with some heavy spells across eastern to northeastern India for the next three days. Some spells are likely to be heavy with thunderstorms in eastern India on Tuesday.
Cooler-than-normal maximum temperatures are expected over Rajasthan and the adjoining Punjab and Haryana for the next five days.
