Family and friends have paid tribute to a couple who were found dead in a campervan in the New Forest at the weekend.

The bodies of Chris Coll (45) and his 38-year-old wife Kayleigh, from Blandford Forum, were discovered in the vehicle on Pound Lane in Burley around midday on Sunday.

As reported by the A&T, Hampshire police described the deaths, which are being investigated by the Winchester coroners’ office as “unexpected”.

The couple had attended the New Forest Cider Festival, where Chris – who ran handcrafted copper art, crystals, clothing and jewellery company Mystacoll’s Spirit – had a stall.

Last Friday he had posted online: “Huge excitement for us as we set up our marquee today ready for the @newforestciderfestival in Burley this weekend!”

Hundreds took to social media to share their sadness at the couple’s deaths.

One posted: “It’s with a heavy heart that we share the heartbreaking news of the sudden and tragic accident that took the lives of our beloved Chris and Kayleigh over the weekend.

“Our main priority right now is the wellbeing of the children, and we ask that you give us time and space to grieve and focus on them. Your love, kindness and understanding mean the world to us during this incredibly difficult time.”

Laura Fox commented: “Absolutely heartbreaking. I hope as a family you can take comfort in knowing how loved Chris and Kayleigh were, what fantastic people they both were and the world is a better place for having them in it.

“Life can be so unfair. So much love to all the family and the four beautiful children they leave behind.”

A Winchester Coroners’ officer told the A&T an inquest had yet to be opened.

He said: “On 12th October, the coroner received a police referral following the deaths of a man in his 40s and a female in her 30s at Ringwood in Hampshire.

“An investigation into the cause of their deaths has begun.”
