NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – On Sunday, the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency (WCEMA) was called to assist in rescuing a 300-pound pig at an animal sanctuary.
According to WCEMA, the pig was trapped in a sinkhole that was more than three feet wide and four feet deep.
WCEMA worked alongside the Wilson County Disaster Animal Response Team and used five-gallon buckets to clear away hay, manure and dirt to gain access to the pig, “Holey.”
“After some creative use of straps and webbing (don’t ask us how!), we successfully lifted Holey on our second attempt,” WCEMA said in a Facebook post.
By the end of the rescue operation, both teams who helped rescue Holey made a hole that was six feet deep and four feet wide.
The rescue efforts took about two and a half hours.
