Mumbai: The rupee closed at 83.66 against the dollar, close to its all-time low of 83.67, in the interbank foreign exchange market on Friday. The local currency had closed 83.65 on Friday following US-China trade jitters on the potential return of Donald Trump as US President. Dealers said that public sector banks were supporting the rupee preventing it from hitting a new low. They were seen to be selling dollars on behalf of the central bank. Tnn
