On 4 December 1956, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins found themselves together at Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee. What began as an unplanned jam session became one of the most famous nights in music history, capturing four artists on the cusp of fame, ambition, and rivalry.
The Barn Theatre production transfers to The Arts at Marble Arch: powered by TodayTix, following an extended summer season in Cirencester. Million Dollar Quartet previously opened on Broadway in 2010, receiving three Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, and made its West End premiere at the Noël Coward Theatre in 2011.
Million Dollar Quartet is a musical that dramatises a real once-in-a-lifetime meeting, putting audiences inside the studio as the musicians trade music, memories, and the sound that would define an entire genre of music. This production features many hits performed in the charged atmosphere of a recording session that became the stuff of legend.
Darren Day reprises his role as Sam Phillips, the Sun Records producer who helped discover and shape the careers of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins.
